About The Initiative
As part of the ongoing endeavors to chair and host the Conference of the United Nations Parties on Climate Change (COP27) and achieve sustainable development in alignment with Egypt's Vision 2030 through focusing on safeguarding the environment to enhance quality of life and uphold the rights of future generations and preparing to implement the National Climate Change Strategy 2050, the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects was established to cover all the Egyptian governorates as a pioneering initiative in the field of sustainable and smart development. It aims at emphasizing the environmental aspect in any project and its effect on climate change. This can be achieved through developing a holistic national roadmap for smart green projects that would attract the required investments with the participation of the Chairman of the Executive Committee and the General Coordinator of the initiative, Ambassador Hisham Badr, the National Committee, headed by Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, climate pioneer for the Egyptian presidency.
