The Minister of Planning and Economic Development designates Ambassador Hisham Badr as the Assistant Minister for Strategic Partnerships

Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, issued a decision appointing Ambassador Hisham Badr, Assistant Minister for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence and Initiatives.
Dr. Hala Al-Saeed stressed that the Ministry of Planning is always keen to benefit from distinguished competencies and cadres who have effective and influential roles in the field of work, noting the importance of relying on cadres who have sufficient experience to lead the work with the aim of raising the efficiency of performance and reaching the highest levels of work.
For his part, Ambassador Hisham Badr, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence and Initiatives, General Coordinator of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence, expressed his gratitude for this trust, pledging to continue working to serve the nation.
Ambassador Hisham Badr assumed a number of diplomatic missions. Where he worked as Egypt's ambassador to Italy and a permanent representative to international organizations accredited in Rome. He also worked as Egypt's ambassador to Japan during the period from 2003-2007. He also worked as Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs and International Security, and also worked as Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations and Bodies Affairs.
Badr held several international positions, including Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Head of the Office of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Head of the Executive Office of the World Food Programme, and Chairman of the Egyptian National Committee for United Nations Security Council Issues. In Geneva, he held the positions of Chairman of the Executive Committee and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, President of the Conference on Disarmament, Chairman of the Budget Committee of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Chairman of the Balance of Payments Committee of the World Trade Organization, and Vice-President of the Human Rights Council / High Commissioner for Human Rights. He also served as Chairman of the Committee. National Intellectual Property Authority in Egypt, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Diplomatic Club.
Ambassador Hisham Badr received the highest award in Japan, the Rising Sun “Gold and Silver Star,” from the Embassy of Japan in 2022. He also received the “Press Campaign” Award in 2010 for dedication and efforts made to protect journalists in armed conflicts.
The Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence and Initiatives undertakes a number of tasks, including: Developing a business strategy for excellence and initiatives, following up on the implementation of strategic partnerships, in addition to preparing draft presentations on initiatives, protocols and memorandums of understanding related to them, and preparing the mechanism for implementing excellence programs at the government and private sector levels.
